Brisbane, Australia
I land in Brisbane, it’s 5am. I have no idea what to do, I feel crazy due to lack of sleep. I wait for a café in the airport to open which charges what feels like a million dollars for breakfast. I scout out the extremely uncomfortable airport chairs with the bars in between each chair and begin sleeping. I look like a homeless bag lady with multiple layers of clothes on since it is like the arctic in the airport. I thought I might see a polar bear walking by. After a few hours I decide it’s time to get a sim card, which also costs an arm and a leg and then with my data figure out to do in Brisbane. I decided to take the airport train to the city center and wander around the downtown core. I had about 8 more hours to kills so I thought it would be best to take the Hop on Hop off bus around Brisbane as quick city tour. It was a good educational trip and for the most part I can’t remember all of it but what I can remember was how hot it go being on the top of the bus. Must have been over +30 with that sun beaming down on me. Also it was exhausting to carry around my backpack, which probably weighed a total of 20kgs at the time. It’s a lot of weight to carry around but I’m glad I did a quick trip to the city. I headed back to the airport just in time to catch my flight to Auckland, New Zealand. I was a bit nervous cause I didn’t know what to expect when I got there (as usual) but was comforted in knowing I’d be with family soon. Bye bye for now Brisbane, now since I now have a one-year visa to Australia, I might be back sooner than later.
