Hyderabad with Suchi + Naren
Oh wow, what a relief it was to see Suchita and meet her husband Naren. The cab driver last night was lost for about an hour and had to drop me off at a random hotel so that Suchita and Naren could come and get me. The introduced me to their crib and a lovely room which I would call home for the next week or so. I also met Muna their friend/helper who made some lovely meals the week I stayed. Hyderabad seemed like such a modern city with lovely shops and restaurants for foodies everywhere, I was definitely impressed. I’ll condense my trip to Hyderabad in one blog post so it’s easier to read between cities. It was beyond lovely to see Suchi after all these years after university. Her dad and her were so kind to me and let me use their driver to go and see some sites like Golkonda during my stay here and the night show narrated by Amitabh Bachchan. Just a warning for those who want to stay around to see the light show, “BRING A BUCKET OF BUG SPRAY!” I’ve never seen so many mosquitos so perhaps some long clothing, jackets, anything to save you. They do have a very interesting contraption to help get rid of the mosquitos. It’s called spraying diesel fumes all over the perimeter of the audience; I thought I’d die of gas inhalation.
Suchi and Naren were the best hosts. They introduced me to local specialties like “Chicken 65” “Hyderabad Biryani” from Al Saba and many south Indian dishes. It was nice to have the time to just chill out and watch movies. We also visited the Chowmalla Palace, what a beautiful site to see-I think it might have been prettier than dear Taji 😉 They took me to a few night clubs/lounges where we had to opportunity to mingle with locals, taste some beverages, and eat some great pasta! I am looking forward to spending more time with this favourite couple of mine in the future, partying it up in a different country and with even more jokes. Thanks Suchi and Naren-Love you llooong time!
